MMFA appoints Carlos Duarte to the Board of Directors

Brussels, 16 March 2025 – The Multilayer Modular Flooring Association (MMFA) is pleased to announce the election of Carlos Duarte, Global Flooring Director and Executive Board Member at Amorim Cork Solutions, to the MMFA Board of Directors.

Carlos Duarte joins the Board alongside Jan Dossche (COREtec), President of MMFA, and Sebastian Wendel (Classen), Vice-President of the association and Chairman of the Technical Committee.

MMFA Managing Director Feriel Saouli said: “On behalf of the MMFA Board and our members, I would like to welcome Carlos Duarte to the association. His experience in developing innovative flooring solutions and working across international markets will be a great addition to the Board.”

Commenting on his election, Carlos Duarte said: “I am honoured by the trust placed in me by the MMFA members. Throughout my career in the sector, I have focused on innovation, collaboration and long-term value creation. I look forward to contributing to the association’s work and supporting the continued development of the multilayer modular flooring sector.”

Carlos Duarte is Global Flooring Director and Executive Board Member at Amorim Cork Solutions. During his career at Amorim, he has held several leadership roles, including leading the Strategic Partnerships & Alliances area, serving as CEO of Corkeen by Amorim and acting as New Business Director at Amorim Cork Composites. With a background in IT Engineering and a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, he has been closely involved in the development of cork-based solutions, including the cork floating component used in the Alqueva Floating Solar Project, which received the 2023 European Sustainable Energy Award (EUSEW) in the Innovation category.

About MMFA: The Multilayer Modular Flooring Association is an organisation representing the leading producers of flooring in Europe and their suppliers. The association was established in October 2012 in Munich, Germany, by seven European flooring producers. It is now managed out of Brussels.
