MMFA becomes a signatory of the Circular Plastics Alliance

Brussels, 6 July 2021 – The Multilayer Modular Flooring Association (MMFA) joins the Circular Plastics Alliance to support its ambitions to drive the circularity of plastics. The objective of the Alliance is to gradually increase the use of recycled plastics in new products and to promote the benefits of recycled plastics in Europe. The Alliance has set itself the ambitious target that at least 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics should be used for the manufacturing of new products every year by 2025.

Matthias Windmöller (Windmöller), president of the MMFA, stated: “Our members at the MMFA are important players in the plastics value chain who are already looking into increasing the circularity of their products by examining and adapting the design of products to make them more recyclable. We are looking forward to sharing our expertise with the Circular Plastics Alliance to support them in reaching its 10 million tonnes target.”

The Circular Plastics Alliance consists of private and public stakeholders along the plastics value chain and has currently 282 signatories representing industry, academia and public authorities. The Alliance is supported by the European Commission in the context of the European Plastics Strategy.
